Description

Laminar Air Flow Cabinet (MS) – Product Overview

The Laminar Air Flow Cabinet (MS) is designed to provide a clean, particle-free working environment for biological, pharmaceutical, and laboratory applications. The system ensures double filtration of air through coarse pre-filters (up to 5 microns) and HEPA filters (down to 0.3 microns), delivering constant unidirectional horizontal airflow over the work surface. This guarantees superior protection of samples from airborne contamination.

The cabinet features a stainless steel work table with a laminated non-glare top, transparent acrylic side panels, and a foldable acrylic front door. Equipped with a dynamically balanced heavy-duty blower, UV sterilization lamp, LED illumination, and digital/analog manometer, it ensures efficient operation with low noise and vibration. Ideal for research laboratories, hospitals, pharma units, and quality control labs.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1. What is a laminar air flow cabinet used for?

A Laminar Air Flow Cabinet is used to create a clean, particle-free working area for laboratory processes such as microbiological testing, pharmaceutical preparation, tissue culture, and electronic assembly. It protects samples from airborne contamination.

Q2. How does the filtration system work?

The cabinet uses double filtration: a coarse pre-filter removes large particles up to 5 microns, followed by a HEPA filter that removes 99.97%–99.99% particles down to 0.3 microns, ensuring ISO Class 5 (Class 100) cleanliness.

Q3. Does this cabinet protect the operator?

No. This model provides sample protection only. It does not protect the user from hazardous fumes or biological agents. For operator safety, a Biosafety Cabinet is recommended.

Q4. What airflow type does this cabinet provide?

It delivers constant horizontal laminar airflow from the rear of the cabinet toward the operator, maintaining a sterile working zone.

Q5. What sizes are available?

Working area sizes available are:
60×60×60 cm, 90×60×60 cm, 120×60×60 cm, and 180×60×60 cm.

Q6. Is UV sterilization included?

Yes. A Philips UV lamp (15W/30W) with a timer is provided for surface sterilization before and after operations.

Q7. What material is used for the work table?

The work table is made of SS 304 grade stainless steel and includes a gas cock for laboratory applications.

Q8. Can the cabinet be customized?

Yes. Body construction is available in wooden, mild steel (MS), or stainless steel, with optional microprocessor controls and adjustable configurations.

Q9. What is the noise level during operation?

The cabinet operates quietly at approximately 60 dB ±5%, thanks to a dynamically balanced heavy-duty blower.

Q10. What industries commonly use Laminar Air Flow Cabinets?

They are widely used in medical laboratories, pharmaceutical units, research centers, hospitals, electronics manufacturing, and quality control laboratories.
