MODEL DEMONSTRATING THE ACTION OF CAMS

A cam is a rotating or sliding piece in a mechanical linkage used especially in transforming rotary motion into linear motion or vice versa.
This model demonstrates cam action and the effect of different cam profiles cut from card.
Students will get a clear understanding from this model about how different cams can be characterized based on the changing position of a roller follower, as the cams rotate about an axis.
