  • Coarse and fine focusing system with rack-and-pinion and screw lever mechanisms for smooth, precise adjustments.

  • Abbe condenser NA 1.25 with iris diaphragm ensures optimal illumination and contrast.

  • Swing-out filter holder enhances image clarity for different specimens.

  • Arc reflector provides bright, natural light for transmitted light microscopy.

  • Stainless steel stage clips hold slides securely during observation.

  • Durable construction suitable for continuous classroom use.

  • Safe packing in Styrofoam or optional wooden cabinet for transport and storage.

  • Comes with dust cover and operating manual for long-term maintenance and ease of use.

Working Principle

The BM–3A Compound Student Microscope works on the principle of transmitted light microscopy. Light from the arc reflector passes through the specimen, where it is concentrated by the Abbe condenser. The iris diaphragm allows precise control over brightness and contrast, providing optimal viewing for different samples.

The specimen image is then magnified through achromatic objectives which minimize color distortion and deliver clear, accurate imaging. The eyepiece further enlarges this image, giving students a detailed view of cells, tissues, and microorganisms.

The coarse and fine focusing mechanisms provide smooth, controlled adjustments: the rack-and-pinion system enables quick vertical movements for initial focus, while the screw lever allows precise fine tuning for delicate details. This combination ensures easy and accurate focusing, ideal for beginners and advanced learners alike.

Applications / Use Cases

  • School and college biology labs for teaching and practical sessions.

  • Student microscopy training for hands-on learning.

  • Study of plant and animal tissues in classroom and lab settings.

  • Observation of microorganisms and prepared slides.

  • Science projects and practical examinations requiring detailed microscopy work.
